Comprehensive Insurance
Health Insurance plan options vary by state and are offered through our carriers Priority Health, Blue Cross Blue Shield and Starmark. Plans are designed to meet the needs of our member schools. Working on your behalf, we are able to offer a variety of plans that provide different levels of coverage. In addition to health coverage, we offer retirement insurance coverage, adoption benefits, dental, life, accidental death and dismemberment (AD&D), short-term disability (STD), long-term disability (LTD), vision, hospital indemnity, critical illness, accident insurance as well as student loan assistance.

Eligibility
Benefits are available to active full-time and certain part-time employees of our member schools and affiliated institutions and colleges across the United States.
Designed for the varying needs of employees, schools may choose from three eligibility requirement options: 50 percent, 62.5 percent, or 75 percent of full-time employment. Schools may choose 3 different levels of eligibility for their various coverage options - one for health, one for basic benefits (Life/AD&D, LTD, and Dental), and one for short-term disability. The eligibility level for health must be at the same percentage or a higher percentage than the other two eligibility levels.
Health Insurance Coverage
The CSI Insurance Plan offers comprehensive health plan options to member schools. Plan options vary by state and are offered through our carriers Priority Health, Starmark and Blue Cross Blue Shield. Plans are designed to meet the needs of our member schools, and working on your behalf we are able to offer a variety of plans that provide varying levels of coverage.
Adoption Benefit
For growing families enrolled in health coverage through a participating CSI Insurance Plan school, this benefit provides up to $5,000 for eligible expenses.
Dental Coverage
We offer three comprehensive plan options for dental coverage through our carrier Delta Dental. Each plan has access to Delta Dental's large provider network.
Life Insurance
Life Insurance for Employees
We offer coverage levels of $20,000, $50,000, or $100,000 worth of basic life and AD&D insurance.
Life Insurance for Covered Dependents
All plans provide $10,000 of life insurance coverage on enrolled spouses. There is $2,000 of coverage on all covered dependents 14 days or older, and $1,000 from birth to 14 days.
Optional Life Insurance for Employees and Dependents
For added peace of mind, employees may elect up to $250,000 or five times their annual salary (whichever is lower), in units of $10,000 as supplemental life insurance.
Accidental Death and Dismemberment (AD&D) for Employees and Dependents
Schedule of coverage is equal to the life insurance amount. 24-hour coverage is provided. Employees may elect supplemental AD&D insurance in units of $10,000.
Optional Accidental Death and Dismemberment (AD&D) for Employees and Dependents
For added peace of mind, employees may elect up to $250,000 or five times their annual salary (whichever is lower), in units of $10,000 as supplemental life insurance.
Disability Coverage
Short-Term Disability (STD)
Schools may choose to add a Short Term Disability benefit that is equal to 75 percent of salary for a maximum of 5 months.
Long-Term Disability (LTD)
All plans provide a monthly benefit equal to 60 percent or 66-2/3 percent of salary, subject to a monthly maximum of $5,000 or $9,000 reduced by certain other income.
Accident, Critical Illness and Hospital Indemnity Coverage
Optional Optional Critical Illness, Optional Accident Insurance, and Hospital Indemnity coverage
Employees are eligible to add accident insurance, critical illness insurance, and/or hospital indemnity insurance to their policy. Note that these coverages can only be added when the employee initially becomes eligible or during the annual open enrollment period.
Vision Coverage
Optional Vision
We offer 2 levels of vision insurance that employees can choose for themselves and their dependents.
Student Loan Assistance
Enrolling in the CSI Insurance Plan includes a Student Loan Assistance benefit that participating employees can access. We have partnered with Tuition.io, a leader in education assistance benefits, to bring this benefit to schools and their employees. Family members of employees participating will also be eligible at no additional cost. Features of the Student Loan Assistance Benefit include guidance through Public Service Loan Forgiveness, access to student loan coaches, and many student loan assistance tools.
Retiree Insurance
We offer early retiree health, dental, and vision insurance for employees who retire prior to becoming eligible for Medicare. We also offer 2 group Medicare Advantage plans and 10 individual Medicare Advantage plans for retirees and their spouses who are eligible for Medicare.
Benefits Administration
Benefits are administered under the terms of the CSI Insurance Plan and Trust Fund by a board of trustees. The trust is a not-for-profit health and welfare trust dedicated solely to providing certain employee benefits and services related to those benefits. All of the Plan's benefit programs, other than Adoption Expense Reimbursement, are fully-insured. The Adoption Expense Reimbursement benefit is a self-insured program that is not insured but is paid from the CSI Insurance Trust.
