Comprehensive Health Care
Health Insurance plan options vary by state and are offered through our carriers Priority Health, Blue Cross Blue Shield, and Starmark. Plans are designed to meet the needs of our member schools.

Dental expense benefits include:
- This optional benefit covers up to $1,500 of dental costs per fiscal year
- $1,500 course of orthodontia, per person per lifetime, up to age 19
- Fiscal year deductible: $50 per person/$150 per family
- 100 percent diagnostic and preventive
- 80 percent all other charges;
- 50 percent crowns, dentures, bridge work, gold fillings, gold inlays, gold inlays, and orthodontia
Life Insurance for Employees
Depending on the coverage you choose, our plans provide $20,000, $50,000, or $100,000 of life insurance coverage until an employee reaches age 70. On the first day of the calendar month following the employee’s 70th birthday, the $20,000, $50,000, or $100,000 benefit is reduced 35 percent. Additional 20 percent reduction occurs upon reaching age 75 and an additional 15 percent at age 80.
Life Insurance for Covered Dependents
All plans provide $10,000 of life insurance coverage on enrolled spouses. There is $2,000 of coverage on all covered dependents 14 days or older, and $1,000 from birth to 14 days.
Optional Life Insurance for Employees and Spouses
For added peace of mind, individuals may elect up to $250,000 or five times your annual salary (whichever is lower), in units of $10,000 as supplemental life insurance.
Disability, Illness, and Accident Coverage
Long-Term Disability (LTD)
All plans provide a monthly benefit equal to 60 percent or 66-2/3 percent of salary, subject to a monthly maximum of $5,000 or $9,000 reduced by certain other income.
Accidental Death and Dismemberment (AD&D) for Employees
Schedule of coverage is equal to the life insurance amount. 24-hour coverage is provided. Individuals may elect supplemental AD&D insurance in units of $10,000.
Optional Hospital Indemnity, optional Critical Illness, and optional Accident Insurance
As a covered employee, you are eligible to add hospital indemnity Insurance, critical illness insurance, and/or accident insurance to your policy. Note that these coverages can only be added during the annual open enrollment period.
All covered employees are eligible for VSP 1 & VSP 2 available through Vision Service Plan.
For growing families, this benefit provides up to $3,000 for eligible expenses.
